I think online sites like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are best for large items like furniture, sports equipment, playground equipment, and big electronics. Yard sales are best for small items like housewares, glassware, pots and pans, toys, games, etc. Ebay is best for items of more collectible value because by casting a broader geographic net, you're more likely to find a buyer who is aware of the items true value.

Just yesterday, I sold 21 Naruto graphic novels on ebay for $49. At a yard sale, I would be lucky to get $0.25 each.
I've got 2 Mario Game Boy games listed right now. At a yard sale, they'd go for $6 or $8 but they currently are up to $41 on ebay.

One thing I hate about garage sale is holding garage sale.

Not me. I love that stuff. I love displaying everything and interacting with the people (most of the people at least). It's fun to me. We also used to sell at toy and collectible shows and I miss that but they all died out due to the internet taking over. It's just not the same, though. You can't browse ebay the way you can browse an antique show. And you don't get to talk to the dealers, hear their stories, learn about the items, trade with other collectors, etc.
