  • Is donating sperm an enjoyable side hustle?

I really want to get into this. I don't want to have kids of my own but helping someone else out might be nice. Are there any financial repercussions of possibly fathering hundreds of children? Well, not really 'fathering' but you know...

And how much money could I make doing this? Seems like a fun side hustle.

I know you have to be over a certain height, those under 6ft need not apply.

It's amazing the thing people will do for money!
I don't know. I wouldn't do this. Unless it was maybe a last resort !

If you pass all the physical tests, have a high sperm count and are willing to share your picture, you can make about $75 per donation depending on location. They will not want you to ejaculate more than once in a 48-72 hour time so $800-$1,000 per month is possible.

I suspect that eventually all this sperm donation is going to come back and bite a few guys in the butt, like ones that have an inherited problem on their DNA that in combo with a woman with the same DNA could cause some major heath problems for a child. Especially if you know that this runs in your family. A child that runs millions of dollars to keep alive, I can see the states coming back to the biological father for his share of the child's support.

Just a thought. I know a woman since she was in her early teens that was adopted so had no idea of any genetic problems in her family. She miscarried multiple children before having 3 live children. One of her daughters married a guy and got pregnant and all was well until the baby was about 3-4 months old and was regressing in motor ability instead of progressing. Come to find out that both she and her husband carried a defective gene, that if both parents have it, it is about a sure bet the child will have this neuro-muscular disease. Most children die before age 1. She is one determined mother and her child on a vent, can't move, can't do anything on their own is around 6-7 now.

I guess guys that are giving sperm willy-nilly, if they can, should at least have a basic genetic test done to check for the most obvious birth defects. It is one thing to father a couple of children within your family structure and find out that they have hemophilia or something along that line, but to be taking a chance of passing that on to multiple sons would make me nervous and I'm not a man.

This is part of why it is important that a guy and a gal get together, learn about each other, learn about their families and family backgrounds, including inherited medical problems prior to marriage or at least getting pregnant. I know most of us never thought of that sort of thing, but some that could be in the position to be the biological father to several hundred children, should at least be somewhat knowledgeable. Now that genetic testing is available.

I would also say that if you do this, you should be upfront with any potential mate that you have done this as well. Some folks have real opinions on sperm or egg donation, and that isn't something they want to find out once they tie the knot.

Of course this is all my opinion, and probably not what you were expecting to hear.

um how much do you actually make doing this? I think I read an article a while back that somehow the sperm donor got sued and needed to pay child support That's kinda scary when you evaluate the cost/benefit

why does height matter? is it because they're picking sperm using a stat sheet? short guys need not apply?
