OP, it is fine to come and ask for advice. It is not okay to promote your site however so I've removed the link to your blog for that reason.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

First off, there shouldn't have had to be much of an investment. You can start blogging with very little to no money. if you invested all your money to start a blog, you didn't do your research when you started.

Secondly, you say you don't know how to get your content ranked in search engines, but your blog is about search engine optimization -- that's not a good sign at all. The SEO niche is not what I would call solid. I'd call it over saturated. I would pick a completely different niche if I were you since you seem to be writing about a topic you don't know much about

There must not have had to be much of financial commitment. You can begin writing a weblog with a little bit of money. If you spent all your cash to begin a weblog, you did not do your analysis completely when you begin.

First submit your blog to all of the popular search engines. Content is the most important factor of internet traffic and if your blog has unique content, you will get loads of targetted traffic.
Anything that might interest people who are interested in the products or services you supply with quality content and the more quality, valuable information you have, the better for your blog, traffic and online sales.

                Facebook advertising

Try Facebook advertising, it really worked for me. And be sure to target the group you want visiting your blog.

I think a blogger can best answer this question.

I noticed that a friend of mine joined shewrites.com. She was thinking the traffic on there would help redirect people to her blog. You can also join facebook groups of similar topics, then politely ask them to follow you back. Same with twitter.

You could try contacting other blogs in you niche and ask them to post a link/story about your blog. In return you could offer to post a link to their blog on yours.

                          Keywords

Perhaps the easiest way of all is still SEO writing to keywords. - Keep putting goo content out there using relevant keywords. Its should still be the foundation of everything you do.
