I'm sure the regular members here did a double take when they saw the title of this thread. Obviously, you're not going to make any money buying lottery tickets and trying to win. What you can do, however, is recheck lottery tickets which have been tossed on the ground to see if somebody accidentally threw away a winning ticket. It happens more often than you think. The biggest winning ticket I've ever found was for $10, but I have also found the number of tickets for lower values over the years. In a sense, it's a lot like looking for lost coins. And there are instances when people do strike it rich. There was a guy in New York who recently found $1 million ticket. So while you're probably not going to make a ton of money, it's definitely worth a look.

I'll keep my eyes open. I can't say I have ever seen a lottery ticket on the ground or left somewhere. You are right it is worth a check to see if it is a winner.

I hear a lot of people who say that. That's why I haven't bought one for myself in years. On Christmas this year, my sister bought a handful of scratch off lottery tickets to use as prizes for some games that we played. I won 85 dollars on a couple of tickets that I got for free! Hooray for me.

If you really want to increase your odds, frequent gas stations and start garbage picking tossed tickets. I was in the gas station today, and they had a garbage can full of scratched tickets.

I was walking home late one evening and saw a guy panning a flashlight around on the sidewalk and grass. I was aboit to ask him if he lost something and he said, somewhat defensively, "Hey man, I found $50 out here the other night!"
