  • Scrapping

One unconventional way of making money is scrapping metals. Metals can be found almost anywhere. Some places include a neighborhood's driveway (their trash), garbage dumps, estate sales, garage, sales, and etc. Once the metal is acquired, go to a scrap yard and have them pay you. There are even YouTube channels dedicated to this.

You can do pretty well doing this off Craigslist, but you have to be really quick. I had a friend doing ti for awhile while looking for other employment. You just have to really watch your transportation costs as they can eat into your profit quite a bit.

I live a pretty nice neighborhood for our area and I am amazed at the number of scrappers we have the night before trash pickup. Maybe 8-10 regulars speeding around in a competition to get the metal first.

Several arrests have been made with pickers stealing from job sites and businesses in the last couple years. I wont be surprised if there are some ordinances passed soon in my area to make scrapping illegal in neighborhoods.

That's quite odd. Where I live; we rarely see any scrappers lol.

Scrappers also steal from recycle bins; what the scrappers steal is what makes city-wide recycling supportable.

Does anyone have a guide or a website that teaches you how to make money scrapping metal?
