  • Purchasing Apple in Bulk Products and Reselling?

Any thoughts on this as a strategy to make money? You could purchase apple products in bulk quantities receive a minor discount (factor in a discount for students) and using that money to resell the items on craigslist (note ebay fees and paypal factored in you will not make money).

I'm thinking it wouldn't be the best idea. Trying to sell laptops would probably be useless since people can already buy refurbished ones directly from Apple for less than buying one with an Apple discount. Plus, if you're not going to sell them cheaper than Apple, then I don't know why people would buy them from you instead of Apple. Also, most products come with a limited warranty and you would have to figure out how to transfer that over to the buyers. As for iPhones, it might be possible, but I know from experience from buying mine from an outside seller that it was a hassle. You usually have to "unlock" it somehow. Also, the vast majority of people buy iPhones from their service providers to save money.

    Hope this helps.

only way this is feasible is for used products. Thought of doing this kind of thing before actually. I lack the experience, and it seems like it would be too much of a PITA because the phones vary between carriers, phones are locked, dealing with broken or bricked phones, stolen phones etc etc. Seems like the odds of you losing money is higher than making.

buy it low and sell it high is the name of the game, doesn't much matter what the product is. i just ordered 20 discontinued knives last night for $15 a pop. i checked ebay and they are selling between $36-65, should be able to double my money at least.

Exactly. I did this for years on ebay and made thousands and thousands of dollars.

If you can find a source from which to get Apple products at a steep discount, I'm sure you could make a nice profit. I have no idea what that source would be (or else I'd be doing it myself).
