    I hope I can contribute to the discussions, especially those that highlight making and saving money.

    One of the best ways to make money is through real estate investment. And there is no best time than now, especially with the housing market recovering.

        Real estate can be good during any economic cycle

        When it comes to real estate, there are a few strategies. One is flipping, you buy a crappy house, fix it up, and sell it. This one requires a lot of work. I would not recommend for first time buyer. Hold, rent - this basis of the strategy is find a property where the rent cover all costs. My experience says, it doesn't require as much effort on your part, but can be annoying. If you wish to maximize your profit, you manage yourself. And there's a "third", you buy "REIT" stocks or real estate stock. Much easier to liquidate, and if choose the right REIT, you still have income. However, you are subject to stock market movement. All have its upside, downside.

              Real estate investing any day Forex is too difficult to predict and the risk of loosing everything makes it sound like gambling than investing.

                The real estate market is still not stable. So, I personally don’t believe that it is the “best” time to invest in it. In case, you’re interested in investing in that field, wait for some more time before you do so.

                          Real estate is all local to you. I would suggest to the readers here that they look to invest in an area that they know and are familar with. That way they can approach a deal with a much more solid risk of exposure as opposed to investing in an hour outside of their market.

                            I wouldn't recommend speculating on real estate right now. I see another bubble, especially with the way the government is preventing foreclosures. Instead, the better option given obscenely low interest rates is to buy and rent. That way, even if the value of the property goes down, at least you'll have the rental income, and you maximize your profit when the mortgage is cheap.
