I'd love to know more about how you use odesk for outsourcing, as well.

You have added just captions of online earning. But i we need to proper training and tutorial. I mean i you are expert in these then can you share with us more detail. I know its very difficult for you and but i need just help if you can then i 'll be very thankful to you.
I don't bring this up to embarrass the poster but as an example of what I see with many that are looking for a way to make money on line. Much of making money on line involves writing skills. One of the first things to do is evaluate your own personal writing skills and seek to improve them as necessary. One of the ways to do that is proofread what you write on forums so that you make sense and use coherent sentences. Practice makes perfect. I you are the kind of person that wants to 'blow off' what I just said by saying "that is how I write, get used to it", then I seriously doubt that you will ever make money on line. Take advantage of spell checkers and grammar checkers.

I see many trying to sell products on line that can't even write a proper description of what they are selling. They ask for advice on why they aren't selling and when it is brought up that their writing skills need work and they need better descriptions, they get very defensive and mad at those of us that try to help. If English isn't your primary language, then find where you can write in your own language and investigate ways to make money there. There is plenty of wide open space on the internet, use it!

I know I have a problem with dyslexia which makes for multiple mistakes in my writing, so when I have time, I always check my posts with a spell checker. Other mistakes I hope after proofreading it that I got it right, but I usually later find errors. Know your own personal goofs when writing and work to correct them.

And the second point I would like to make is go to the websites that are suggested and spend time with them prior to asking for help. Most people don’t mind helping those with specific questions but asking for ‘more detail’ about a whole operation tells me you haven’t tried to figure out the site. If you have questions ask the most important and specific questions first and show that you have actually gone to the different sites by saying for example; “Xwebsite says to do this, but I don’t understand exactly what they are saying”. That is a much easier question to answer than just asking for more details.

As I said, this wasn’t said to embarrass anybody, but in response to requests I have seen on many forums about making money on line and the two major things I see from those who want help. Also remember that if someone has found a way to make good money on line, they usually aren’t going to give away all their secrets as that can put them out of work in no time.

            I agree.

I find that most common question is "how can I make money online?" My answer; lots of ways. Then they get annoyed that I didn't answer their questions. In general you should follow the principle of; a better question gets a better answer.

Absolutely! Too many are on the look out for free money and no work but as the late Robert Heinlein (a fantastic SciFi author) has said in many of his books, "There is no such thing as a free lunch". Somehow you will always have to earn those freebies. Much better to do your own work and you will appreciate what you learn much more and you will understand what you are trying to do to earn money on line. Which is the point of how to earn money on line. No one is in the basement of the internet printing (making) money, but there are people who are earning money on line and others can as well.

Interesting that advice from a Science Fiction writer is applicable to most situations. That said, can you call something a free lunch if someone else pays for it?

Not in many cases. How many times after someone has paid your way or done you a "favor", when they need something do you hear, "but I did this for you"? My MIL once gave me a drive to the eye doctor since I wouldn't be able to drive home afterwards. Several days later she told me that someone had hit and put a dent in her car and the only time it could have been was when she was parked at the doctor. For the next few years (until their car died and I gave them my old one) I kept hearing about the dent that she got in her car when she took me to the doctors! This was a near 20 year old van and the dent was so minor as to be almost invisible. I felt like she wanted me to dig into my almost empty pockets to find money to fix this dent that there was no proof when and where it appeared but easier to blame it on me as it had to be fault since she was doing me a favor at the time. Let's just say that I'm very cautious about her doing me 'favors' any more.

That was totally off topic here, but there are very few times, I think, that free really means free and what an awesome gift that is! When it comes to making money on line, I'm never found any truly free way. You always have to do something and spend time earning it. Many times the trouble isn’t worth the reward at all.

You can come up with your own blog/vlog and earn from advertisments or Adsense. Signing up on websites like Odesk will also give you the opportunity to earn money online.

You are right. There are really lot of ways to earn money online. It will just depend to you which one you prefer and which suites your knowledge and expertise.

In my case, I'm making money online through blogging and internet marketing. I took some time before I able to earn decent money online for my living.

I know that there are several threads going right now about making money or making money on line. I would love to see that those that respond first say what THEY do to make money on line and what part of a monthly income that is made with it. I keep hearing lots here about having a blog and you can make money on line. Yes you can, but the real question is how much can you make? Some make maybe 25 cents a month and others make thousands of dollars. The majority probably are in the 25 cents to $1 range I would suspect, as it takes some ingenuity, work, research, ability to study, writing skills and figure things out to make a blog that can become a cash cow. You can sell things on line and make $10 a month or thousands, yet again it depends on what you put into it. All other schemes for making money on line are the same way. Some people say their friends is making oodles of money or a friend of a friend, and nothing is substantiated. When someone is desparate to make more money they need to have honest information and honest potential results from people that have proven what they can do. Or sites that have worked for them.

With in the next weeke or two I should be getting my 4th Adsense check from Google for $105. I got one in Febraury, and before that it was about a year and a half, and before that the first check took something like 3-4 years to earn through my blog and the Adsense ads. I also have Adsense ads on my store which gets me the majority of the money. Last month I cleared about $24 which is the most I've ever gotten. So my income from Adsense is gaining momentum which is great! I will say that I don't work it real hard as I'm busy doing other things.

I have also earned bits and pieces here and there through surverys, refunds, and affliate marketing. Not enough to make a dent in our budget.

However, we do sell products on line that bring in 25-35% of our income if not more on a really good month. We bootstrapped our way up to where we are today and own all our inventory (and a house filled with boxes of inventory ) and work probably 40 hours a week or more spread throughout all 7 days go into it. I also spend a great deal of time reading sewing reference works both books and magazines to be more helpful to out customers as we sell sewing patterns, and other craft items. I don't count that as time worrked as sewing and reading are both my hobbies. We have been doing this for close to 11 years at this point. We are not yet at the point of it being a full time income, but it sure has saved our bacon over the years.

I share this not to brag (some wouldn't think it was anything to brag about anyhow) but so that some will see that things are possible, but not everyone ends up on easy street. It took a lot of reasearch to know how to do things (things that aren't easily answered in a forum such as this) and continued learning to keep up with all the changes that happen on line and most especially with search engines as most work depends heavily on you being seen by the search engines.

I trust this is of some help to those that need it. Sometimes the best thing to do is get a 2nd job at McDonalds if you need money right away, but there is no reason that if you don't mind the work, that you can't also have a secondary income over time from your acitivites on line. Just don't expect instant riches.

Would you care to share how you go about getting traffic to your website?
We have an on line store on ecrater.com (which is a great site to sell and buy from folks). Ecrater doesn't charge fees for the most part and so one of their ways of making money is Google Adsense ads throughout the site. Basically without getting into all the details, those of us that wanted to participate can sign up and have Adsense ads run on the bottom of each listing page. If a customer clicks on a link, we get the money from that click. Our store has a lot of listings and a lot of customers so we tend to get more clicks than most and they can add up fast. So far this month we have made $14. Since I don't have to do anything since I signed up, it is free money for me. For us pulling traffic to our store is the most important thing, not pulling people in for the ads itself. I have heard of people who make lots of money using Adsense, but don't know of many that really do. Most don't talk dollar and cents or they have heard that you can make money with a blog and so suggest that a lot here, but you really have to know what you are doing to set up a blog that makes consistent high dollars. Since our on line store is one of the ways we earn enough to live on, we focus on that (getting good sales from the store). I don't have the time and energy to be also running a blog simply to make money from Adsense. I have enough ideas to earn a fortune on line, but my health prevents me from doing all I would like to do, so I take advantage of any way I can to get the easy dribs and drabs of money coming in without extra work on my part. For many $100 may not sound like much any more, but for us it is still a nice chunk of change to receive for basically doing nothing

That being said, Google is in the midst of changing their Adsense program for blogs. I only saw some details about it yesterday so if someone has a blog they may want to check into it as Dec. 3 is the day it takes effect and I assume if you aren't on the ball, you could lose some money and the new system looks like it might be more profitable than what was happening before..

Great ideas about making money. I also use Google Adsense, but I mainly make money through Amazon Associates, cashing around $150 out by the end of this month at least.
