I personally have never done this because frankly inbound marketing and SEO are far more fruitful but here is a simple way to make some money and it's completely honest.


A. get an ADT affiliate agreement (the best ones pay $300 per sale)
B. use their template and the 800 number they issue you and get door hangers printed. Shop around these can be bought for about 10 cents a piece (HAGGLE)
C. Goto upscale, and by upscale I mean upper middle class area and simply place the door hanger advertising on door knobs. When the people call the 800 number the call center knows they dialed your number. You receive $300 for every sale of an ADT security system/subscription

This is a great idea because you're essentially being paid to walk and nothing else. If 1/300 of these door knob adverts convert you will have made a $270 profit for the day.

If 1/500 it's more like a $250 profit for 10 hours of work. Either way there is a definite opportunity. I wish I knew about this when I was young and making nothing as a sandwich artist.

I would say that you would be lucky if you did 1/500, I think the conversion ratio for that type of advertising is .01 % on average, but I'm not sure.

In my younger days I tried it with health insurance, but didn't know about ADT and out of about 300 I received 3 leads, so I think with a little bit of targeting 1/500 in possible. It must be decent if a Chinese restaurant selling a cheap product sees value in it year after year.
