  • Get A Job

I am surprised that nobody has thought of this here before!! The best way to earn money is to go out and get yourself a good job. Is it that hard to do?

To say we haven't thought of it isn't quite true.

But agreed a job is the best way to earn money. In this economy, people have been laid off are looking for work and can't yet find a job. So we need to have some sympathy for those folks.

However, there are the non traditional jobs, such as shoveling someone's yard, mowing, babysitting, dog sitting/walking and so forth.

Are you finding yourself annoyed that someone is not struggling sufficiently?

A job isn't neccesarily hard to get, it's the "good" part that's sometimes tough.

A job! I never thought of that.

            So... are you hiring?

Please, tell us more! My husband hasn't had one of those in 2 years, and I guess it just never occurred to him to go out and get another one. Huh. The things you learn here!

Thanks, if you had not said something, I might not have thought to go looking.

                  Thanks for the tip.

I'd need to earn about $14/hr for it to make financial sense for me to work rather than receive unemployment and continue searching for a "career".

I think the sticky part is the "good" part. Seriously, jobs are few and far between in my community. A friend's son was looking for an entry job at fast food and said there aren't any because all the folks who have lost their jobs lately have taken them.

actually I loved these posts because they suggest other ways to find work besides the traditional jobs. Daycare, gas for the car and other things can make it difficult to find a job. Not to mention there aren't too many out there right now!

Actually, a job is not the best way to make money. There are so many other ways to make money if you are dedicated and persistent.

It also depends on where you live. Where I live I could walk out my front door and pick any number of jobs as there is a real shortage of workers. I know in the USA though, most areas it is impossible to get any job, let alone a good one.

Personally I love this post by Steve Pavlina 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job

But then if you're not that type, a job is better.

This is something that I have been trying to do. I've been looking for part-time work in addition to my full-time job. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck finding something that fits around my current work schedule. I work 10AM - 7pm on M, T, W, F and 8AM-2PM on Saturday. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard, but I'm sure there are a thousand other people with their own schedules to deal with.

I'm not searching for "nice" jobs either. I've been going after housekeeping or fast food places, but I think these jobs are going to high school and college students rather than someone in their mid-30's who already has a FT job.
