Question for everyone with the Citi Dividend Platinum card.

When you sign-up for the Dividend Merchants Network, do you get more junk e-mail and phone solicitations? (Do they sell all your info to these merchants?) Any drawbacks to signing up?

I haven't seen an increase in junk mail from the merchant members. The only problem I have is that I don't shop online much, and when I do, I hardly ever remember to access the merchants' sites through the Citibank site, so I don't get the full 5% reward. But if you regularly shop online with the included merchants and you think you will remember to use the Citibank site, then there really is no disadvantage. I have been really happy with my Citibank Dividend card, although I hit the $300 reward cap last November. Purchases made through the Merchant Network are not subject to the $300 per year cap that in-store purchases fall under, so that is the biggest advantage in my eyes.

One other quick note for any Citibank credit card holders, Citibank will put your photo on your card for free - just ask! It's great protection against credit card theft.
