  • Hack for Vacation rental and Hotel booking

Reverse Image search the listing on Google to see other sites where a particular property is listed.
It's an easy way to compare rates.

Be very, very careful about doing this. Best practice is to book directly through the company website even if it costs more. There are lots of consolidators out there like Expedia and hotels.com and trivago and others but if you encounter any problem, you can end up screwed if you didn't book with the hotel directly. I've seen way too many horror stories of people showing up at a hotel only to be told they didn't have a reservation. It never got properly processed by the consolidator.

A better/safer "hack" is one I've shared many times. Make your reservation and then every few weeks until your trip, go back to the site and check the rate. Rates often drop as the date approaches and the hotel has unbooked rooms. You can make a new reservation at the lower rate and cancel your original reservation (in that order). I've saved thousands of dollars over the years by doing this.
