Got some big wins for my financial, physical & emotional health this morning after a bad day yesterday. On target for about 20% of gross income to go towards retirement this year.

There is a post under General Discussion "Post Your Wins" for this sort of stuff. But that being said congratulations!!
I finally maxed out my 2017 IRA contributions about two weeks ago. That is the first time in 4 years or so that I have been able to do such, so I know how awesome it feels. I probably will not be contributing for 2018 until later this fall though as I am looking at roof issues and possible vehicles in the not too distant future.
Running is one of those things I can never get into. I had gotten to the point that I could jog 2 miles, and I feel awesome after jogging, but the thought of having to go do it just burns me out.
One last note is you mentioned having a bad day yesterday. I would suggest be careful about investing money and what such if you have any major stress or emotional issues going on at the time. With out knowing your situation, I don't know if you put $5500 in all at once, or if you just dropped the last $10 to max it out, or if you have $500,000 in the bank or $5501 prior to maxing it out. I am just gun shy about spending or investing money if I have something serious looming over me at the time.
Congrats again and stick to it!!

I love the title of this thread, it makes it all sound so ordinary to max out a retirement account and then go out and do your run. Sort of like folks should be doing those sorts of things every day.

If you read a lot of the literature on "rich habits" or things that people do on an everyday basis to gain wealth, exercise is one of those.
If you're interested in more on this, there are a couple of good books.
The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley and William Danko is a good starting place.
Also, Rich Habits: The Daily Success Habits of Wealthy Individuals by Thomas C. Corley is another good one.james.c.hendrickson@gmail.com
