  • Why Are Central Banks Increasing Their Gold Reserves?

I've noticed that many central banks around the world have been increasing their gold reserves in recent years. I'm curious about the motivations and implications behind these actions. What do you think are the main reasons central banks are buying more gold?
    • How does gold contribute to the economic stability of a country?
    • In what ways does holding gold diversify a central bank’s reserves, and why is diversification important?
    • Why is gold considered an effective hedge against inflation, and how does this impact central bank policies?
    • How do geopolitical tensions and uncertainties influence central banks' decisions to buy more gold?
    • What role does gold play in maintaining or boosting confidence in a country's currency?
    • Are there historical precedents that explain the current trend of central banks buying gold?

What might be the long-term effects on the global economy if central banks continue to increase their gold reserves? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and insights!

Are you going to contribute anything to this forum other than starting thread after thread about gold and then never participating in the discussion that follows?

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

It is AI I tell you!! AI !!! We are training their algorithms with our responses.

Really though I don't get why people would want to come to a forum such as this to post random spam.

Looking at the members list it is interesting. There are 125,000 members. But only 110 have visited year to date. Only half of those in the last month.

2,360 have 10 post or more. 113,640 have never posted anything at all.

Looking at Personal Finance board, the oldest post is right at a month on on page 1.

So someone is going to go through the trouble to register and post some gold / silver nonsense. Then presumably come back later and change the post to include links to their content, but best case scenario 50 people see the post, less than that click on it, and maybe one dumbass clicks on it (i will because I can!).

          I just don't get it.

I don't get it either but I guess if they do it thousands of times to thousands of different forums it pays off. It's like spam emails. They only need like a 0.1% response rate to be profitable. Snag one gullible mark and make thousands of dollars.

The whole routine here with making a post and then editing it a few days later really doesn't make sense to me because the forum is quite inactive. Maybe 50 people see your initial post but it's very possible that few if any will see the post after you go back and change it.

I've seen this in the past. A lot of times it was people looking for answers/opinions for blogs that they are trying to write or online articles that they are hoping to get published.
I guess you could call it "research" but it is never forthcoming or honest.
It's always masked as a legit question on a board.

That is an interesting angle for sure.

Engineering Tips forum occasionally has students post homework questions. In both cases it seems like it is less about personal growth and more about finding an quick answer.
