I think this is a great opportunity! Now you have funds, can relocate, have experience and is at your prime. I think you want to expand your job search options and use this as a chance to significantly do better in the future!

I just went through the same thing. Company downsized and let go every sales rep and manager and are partnering with another company. My last day was a month ago and then June 15 was when we got our severance. We met with our financial advisor as we have quite a bit of money to roll-over from our 401K and my company also had a pension which I had some money in. We wanted to check in and make sure he knew right where we were financially and it was nice to see if we were on track and could breathe easy. This happened to me about 10 years ago as well and it was a whole lot different this time around. 42 is a lot different than 32 and having just started a family. A lot changed in 10 years from a financial standpoint to make us a lot more comfortable!
