DisneySteve, sorry I couldn't log in.

My tooth is hurting really bad and I suspect not being used to hydrocodone, I hope, is not making my posts come out very rude. Especially to you whom I love your wisdom.

Anyhow when we are able to obtain cash, there is no waiting period. It's just used as we get it. The bank teller, maybe I should've been more clear, is older. Her husband has a good job with the State but yes, she could steal also. I feel the chance is very low. But don't follow her life to see if her husband was fired and now they have no medical insurance and now the cancer is back. Just one example. That Branch Manager in Carson did tell me shes never worked at a bank in her entire career, where someone wasn't fired for stealing. Someday maybe we won't even use a bank but who knows. And maybe sometime I'll study investing and choose to do it. Especially with my HSA funds which so far, I've only been comfortable investing into CD's. And I haven't even done that yet. My main concern is a catastrophe and people not having their basic needs met because the resources were tied up in other places

Ha ha yep that is not a bad idea actually lol.

I know it was sarcasm but that is something I never thought of. The quality of the safe might make a difference in a fire. We have dead trees here falling down, my neighbor was on KCRA TV yesterday regarding it. Beetles are eating them up due to the drought.

I need to go to a Periodontist appt and get some antibiotics. I have a tooth infection and am taking medicine which is making me feel sick and cranky. Taking hydrocodone cause I ran out of the ibuprophen big pills.

I like to think all of my ideas are pretty awesome

As for the sick & cranky, perhaps you should switch from Motrin to

        Get well soon

If you invest your HSA in CDs, what happens when you need to draw from those funds? Or do you keep a chunk of it liquid and just put the remainder in CDs?

We just got an HSA for the first time this month so I'm still learning the ins and outs of it. I just have the money sitting in a plain old savings account earning next to nothing at the moment but we also have recurring and predictable medical bills that will use up all of the money within the year so I'm not terribly concerned with trying to increase the return. The money isn't going to be there long enough to matter.

          * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
          * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
          * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

That's a good question. I didn't see needing them for medical issues for myself and didn't understand my husband could also use the $$ so had I known, wouldn't have went the CD route. You loose any interest accumulated but also a part of the $$ invested from what I understand. Since you expect use the money so am not sure there are other beneficial options available except just to keep it in the HSA account as you've done. At some point, I will do more research on the topic.
