Not me thank you very much! Nor do I consider what I do overkill and you will notice I am not trying to pull anyone else to the 'darkside', nor if I were helping people to try to get a grip on their finances would I use the approach that you use.
Woah, Slow down! As you stated they were assumptions, not statements of fact. You are putting words in our mouths here. Nobody said you didn't have any discipline or mental ability or whatever.

As I asked before, what benefit did you find to the system of more bank accounts? Did you enjoy having more debit cards, or did you even need them? You seem to stand behind it very firmly, so instead of arguing how we are way off base with our assumptions(which we are free to have on the interwebs btw), explain to us why you enjoyed it. Otherwise don't just say how we are wrong, and have no basis for it other than bias. Enlighten us.

I also have stated that as long as it works, it's better to be abnormal and still winning with money vs trying to be normal and failing. To go this far vs a spreadsheet seems like overkill. However, I supposed if you are not comfortable with computers, perhaps the multiple bank account system would be better? IMO, I would only see this being enjoyable to use if someone loved doing ledgers and books, or possibly have a weird obsession with bank accounts.
Please re-read your posts before hitting Enter. The above is filled with derision and insults.

Folks, I don't know what is causing all of the recent negativity on the site but I, for one, am not enjoying it at all. If you don't have anything nice to say, it's usually best to say nothing at all.

We all need to learn that you can disagree without being disagreeable. It's okay to have different opinions. The discussions would be pretty boring otherwise. But that doesn't make it okay to criticize and insult folks who don't share your view. The world has more than enough hate, as numerous recent events have demonstrated. Let's not allow that hate into our little corner of the internet.

I wasn't aware it was being read into as such. I'll resist trying to be funny as much, which seems to be read as insults. My apologies.

We have a bunch of accounts, maybe 10 or 12. Joint checking and savings, business checking and savings (taxes go there), then a bunch of online accounts. These include car savings (next purchase, repairs, insurance), vet and medical fund, home repairs, vacation and such. I also keep subcategories within checking and business. One online Ef, one at the credit union (for faster access than online bank). Some might find it overkill, but I prefer this way as it keeps me easily organized. It has nothing to do with a lack or excess of anything, and everything to do with what makes some of us numbers nerds happiest! I've done it this way for years and far prefer everything neatly grouped aside instead of lumped together. To each their own, whatever works.

Showing an emoticon of someone being whipped is supposed to be funny??? Good Steward, especially since when you left that comment your avatar was a cross, I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a statement of faith but your writing doesn't show it at all. I was hurt and feel dumped on by the negativity and FALSE assumptions that were thrown my way because I don't go with the normal flow. I never have but that doesn't make me a bad person. And yes you did imply all those things about me and others who would handle our money in this way.

As I said ,however someone keeps track of their finances is up to them and if it helps them that that is what is important. Maybe some reading this really can't stand or understand doing spreadsheets and reading this would go "Wow! I didn't know I could have multiple bank accounts where I could save up for special projects and retirement too." It could help them into the financial life that they want and what most of us are trying to achieve.

It was meant to be a joke since I was the one feeling like I was getting whipped by you because of your aggressive responses. I was also attempting to be light-hearted, but you took it as me making fun of you. I apologize.

You have assumed I was attacking you personally, but I was only addressing the topic. Nobody ever said you were bad, or wrong, or stupid. All those things were assumed by you by reading into what was put about the topic, and what our opinion was regarding multiple accounts.
