Where in my post did I suggest I was dealing with peer pressure regarding this subject?

It was merely a topic I was curious about.

Yeah, that is who I was quoting as well.

Just seemed like a bizarre place to take this thread.

However, for the record, although I do agree with your post in general this is not a situation where I feel or succumb to peer pressure.

I used to, when I was younger, but not as much anymore. You can watch the games on TV and it costs much, much less money and it's arguably more fun.

Yes I buy cycling jerseys from the thrift stores.

Buy padded shorts and pants online

Also buy many skeet reese items to sell on Ebay. He is my neighbor (lives 1/2 mile away). So our Town gets alot of his stuff during the event he sponsors.

I should forge his signature to make more money since we live in the same tiny town but then I'd feel guilty

I buy alot of cycling gear to sell online, mostly jerseys and cycling saddles. We live 5 minutes from the town known as the endurance capitol of the world. So there is alot of cycling stuff coming to the thrift stores regularly but not many buying it since most everyone here is pretty wealthy, at least the cyclists that is. They buy new.

I also occasionally go on a weekend- 5 day cycling tour riding from town to town. Generally choosing the intermediate rides-50 miles a day is average but one or two 75 miles a day thrown in is do-able

I don't think OP was asking about exercise gear for personal use. He was asking about buying fan products.

I have a few running shirts and shorts that I use but they're not licensed items and have no team logos. They're just plain clothes. They came from Dicks and the Under Armour outlet.

Oh Ok thanks. I wish we had an Under Armour Outlet.

We only have small stores here regarding sports. They are mom and pop owned so buying items which are a bit more expensive doesn't bother me too much.
Nice owners. We get our cycling socks, and all our bikes, tune ups and other cycling stuff from them

I'm a huge sports fan but mainly NBA, NFL, Boxing, and MMA.

Have I bought a merchandise? Yes, just twice (two jersey for each team I support). Not a big deal to me.

Have I attended an event? Not yet, I live in Los Angeles and a good seat will costs you several hundred dollars.

Will I watch an event? Yeah, I want to experience it at least once or twice in my lifetime. Not now, but I might save money and buy some tickets in the future.

My sports fan spending has been between $1000-1500 a year the last couple years. Costs about $500 per NFL home game for my wife and I to attend. Other expenses include NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct TV, Jerseys, etc.

My neighbor is a long time season ticket holder for the Cubs. He attends less than a dozen games a year and sells the rest online to pay for his season tickets and make a profit. It works well, if you have a popular market for that type of thing.

Zero for us, on either events or apparel. We just don't care about pro sports in this household, my husband included. I would far rather attend a concert or an expensive family day out to the aquarium or something than pay through the nose to see a sporting event. I think the prices are ridiculous. We don't watch sports on tv, either.

That being said, to each their own. Not our thing, but if it's someone else's and they can afford it, so be it. Everyone has their 'thing' they like enough to spend the money to enjoy. Sporting events and teams just aren't ours over here.

You own no nike, UA, adidas, etc etc? if so then you do spend money on sport apparel.
