  • fun with cable

A thing I do that many don't is post completely truthful info to the best of my ability, withholding certain personal details, of course. Sometimes the claims sound ridiculous; I know, I'm a pretty sane person according to everybody except my wife.

One of my guilty pleasures is not paying my cable bills on time. I think it's a subconscious thing where I must hate cable companies or something.

Anyway, here's my past due cable bill that I was planning to pay just now until thought I'll post about not paying it. I'll no pay it. And try to remember to update this post on my next bill.

You'll create a thread for anything wont you sv2007?

Seriously though...ease back on the thread creation. Are you that bored? When is the last time you spent any quality time with your family?

I'm a curious person and like to hear what others say sometimes.
If I don't see a thread that matches, why not create one?

Are you trying to make yourself feel as if you are not powerless in the face of your cable company? I have no idea why that is fun.

I'd respond with my cable bill if only I had one.

P.S. Rennigade, maybe sv2007 posted that for people like me who are taking a break (in my case resting my elbows from garden digging and there is no family her to spend time with) and looking for a bit of low key entertainment.

Maybe. But it also is a lot of fun; like doing something wrong on purpose (I'm a rebel).

Nah. He's saying, "Look at me, I pay my cable bill late", but if you look at the bill, it's only $35.

            So I think he's trying to humble-brag.

I'd respond with my cable bill if only I had one.
I called the CableCo to cancel cable service (while keeping telephone and internet) because we never watch cable anymore. They gave us a discount equal to the amount of our (basic) cable, so we're getting it for free.

Anything you can do, I can do better...

This thread came out of another thread.
              Not bragging at all.
There is no consequences in paying this bill late, and I'll demonstrate it.
Even when my cable bill was higher: no consequence.

Not even a ding on your credit score? I don't get the point of this thread.

What exactly is the point of paying your bill late? Whether there is a consequence or not, what purpose does it serve? How does it benefit you to not pay it on time? You must get something out of it or else why would you do it?

Works for guys /sugar mamas too.

Certain things in life are just without consequences and many posters who optimizes even tiny things, here's another. I'm routinely late and yet, each time my special runs out, I call cable co and get a new special deal (as good as anyone who always pays on time).

                        So what's the point?

It's only a week late. And, cable is pro rated and paid forward. That bill is for services not even used yet. If you cancel your cable today you'd probably end up getting money back from the cable company.

I pay about $125 a month for my Directv and it's honestly dirt cheap IMO. I always have something to watch, day or night. Westerns, comedies, sports, talk shows, animal and military shows. The content is practically infinite. Don't tell anyone but I'd pay a multiple of that which I currently pay if I had to.

What happens if you don't pay for a few months?
                            With Comcast, nothing happens.

I have Comcast and I get a late fee every frigging month because they don't know how to charge my credit card. I have to call every month and put it on auto-pay, then open my bill and scream, "What is the definition of insanity??!?"
