I've been listening to Dave Ramsey podcast for past year.

Once in a while he spend an hour talking to callers what they have done to achieve Millionaire status. He defined millionaire those who have a Net Worth of 1 million (Asset - Liabilities). I'm not there so this theme is for those who have are worth a million.

What is your average lifetime INCOME working life?
Average House Hold Income for our working life combined is $172,000. Working Life is 9 years for me, 3 years for my wife


Did you inherit any of that money, if so how much?
None from inheritance, but my parents did help with a down payment of 80k which we lost all of it due to the housing bubble. They also paid for my college tuition and pharmacy school


What cause you to become a millionaire?
Living like a college student while having a high income. This lead to a significant amount of equity in my house which I used and purchased a foreclosure with cash that yielded a good 200k in equity after renovations



Did you use Debt to achieve wealth?
Wife had 170k of student loans, I had zero debt.


How many brand new car(s) have you own?
Toyota Celica from HS bought by my parents. Wife bought a new Beetle recently


How much did you pay for last pair of jean?
0, the more rugged the pair of jeans look, the higher value it has right? At least that's the BS American Eagle is telling us. The average I have spent on any pair of jeans is 25 dollars/pair. Same for my wife

3.2 for me, 3.4 for my wife

never had a job that paid more than 65k a year

inhereited around 300k but had already achieved millionair status befor the inheritance


What cause you to become a millionaire?

saving money and buying real estate at the bottom in 2009, 80k homes are now 225k



Did you use Debt to achieve wealth?

have 2 mortgages for around 120k


How many brand new car(s) have you own?

3, drive a 1972 el camino now

$18 for levis on ebay

none! and proud of it, graduated HS with a D- average
