Hi! My husband is doing some business in San Francisco for more than a year now. And recently, he told me that he is planning to get a house for our family. Of course we don't have enough budget lol...so, we are considering to consult a financing company to help us get an affordable home. Can you guys recommend a good firm? Or would you be able to suggest other options? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to SA. Moving is a major change and moving to a big, expensive city like San Francisco is huge. There are so many questions to figure out what will serve your needs for the lowest possible cost. Where do you live now? Do you rent? How large a space do you need? Do you have kids that need/will need access to schools? Will you seek work?
The basic rule of thumb for housing suggests...spending no more than 30% of take home pay [income] for housing costs all in - including utilities like electric, heat, cable, internet, phone, water, sewerage, trash, parking etc.

Are you locating to City or commuting outside the city? What is your budget? How much you can afford versus debt? Average price for a home in the city is 1 million +.Got debt?

Hi, I forgot to mention too that upon asking my mom, she mentioned that some financial or lending institutions can give fixed rate mortgage. I guess, I have read that somewhere here online also. I hope it helps.Last edited by Claudia Bob; 01-13-2016, 10:55 PM.
