many grocery chains are online now and free delivery if you spend a certain amount. You get the weekly sale prices and can use coupons (they take them off your next order). They give you a two hour window that you pick, they carry everything right into your kitchen. I had zero problems, produce and meats were just the way I would've picked them (you can tell them if you want green bananas, for instance). The staff would call if some item was out of stock and offer a sub with a discount. Always on time. Really, can't think of one thing I didn't like. Why waste time at the store when I can be home with the kids? You may find you don't have this in your grocery chains, then I think it's basically netgrocer and peapod who cost more and do not carry anything. And look at Jet for food, as well, but that's not a site where you can get all your basics.
in my case outsourcing this for free saved me time, gas and money because I made zero impulse buys. I don't think hating grocery shopping is a horrible thing, you can make those same meal planning lists and just order them online.
now that I am sharing a home, my father loves to grocery shop, he spends way more than we need, big impulse buyer, goes several times a week. I explained I can do this all online and save his time, he always says no. Probably because he is a diabetic and afraid I won't order his sweets, lol.
