  • Passed a retirement savings milestone

My geometry teacher in high school is mostly to thank, he spent one day talking about investing and the power of compounding interest which stuck with me. I opened my roth shortly afterwards and funded it with my paper route and lawn mowing service. Fast forward a bit and here we are having just passed the 500k milestone!

I like the transition from paper route money to 500k in like 18 words...lol

Well done. Are you able to track down that teacher and send him a thank you note? And by the way, while your teacher is deserving of a big THANK YOU it was you who chose to pay attention and apply the lesson offered. Bravo!

That was one heck of a paper route!

Congrats on hitting the 500K mark. That's a biggie.

Haha, well I did start 401k and convinced my wife to start a roth and 401k in the time between the paper route and now.

Kudos for having a long term goal, taking appropriate action and sticking to it. I wish we could influence others to listen to the ideas your geometry teacher outlined.
