While it probably would not be worth it money-wise for the amount of work required, it is a new and good experience and will look nice on his resume.
He will be teaching a tough graduate course in one of the top NY universities. (You would know it).
The bonus is, that's the school we both graduated from and we are still friends with many professors. So now their former student will become their colleague. Kind of sweet.
The money is not so much -- only 7K for one course that meets once a week. The semester is 15-16 weeks. After taxes it will probably end up being 4K. And there is not just the class, there is prep, grading homework, making up tests, labs, meeting with students, commuting, etc... So this will cut into our family time a lot (and we both have full time jobs already). But we thought we would try it out for one semester, just to have that experience, develop more contacts, etc... The money is still better than nothing, and we could definitely use it.
