FSA to allow $500 rollover

I'm glad a thread got started about this topic and I was considering starting a thread about this topic myself. This change is good but the way I understand things is that the $500 can only be rolled over and extended for 1 year, thus if the $500 is not used within that timeline it will still be forfeited. The "use it or lose it" clause (even though extended for an additional year) still cannot get me to buy-in.

I could only see it being worthwhile if you have regular predictable medical expenses and do not have an HSA compatible plan.

Thanks so much for posting this! I wasn't aware of the rule change, and it may affect whether or not I sign up for a FSA. Now to find out if my employer is going to allow the rollover ...
