  • Avoiding taxes this year

My wife just received 21k plus $1132 a month from social security. This will be added to my income
since my wife does not work. We file a joint return and we hadnt planned on this income. I am in the
15% bracket and the only way I can think of is to increase my 401k. The company puts in a flat $1200
a year. whether you contribue on not. I save 2% of my weekly check and thinking of 10% or better.
I am 64 yrs old. Anything I am not thinking of. Thanks for your help.
