    It will be better if you could trade it before the situation of the car gets worsened. If the body is no more, you won’t be able to trade in the car.

      Trade it in to start depreciation cycle again? No thanks. The OP has already absorbed most of the depriciation so what's the difference if it's worth $2k or $500 when it does finally get put out to pasture?

      Keep rolling without car payments or significant depreciation.

        I recall you've had a new motor and last mentioned $2K for rust abatement. Were you annoyed that they found even more rust? What if they're wrong? Won't you get your $ 2K worth by driving until the motor falls to the road?

        If you want a newer/different vehicle, work out what meets your needs best, the manufacturers and models to check out and sell the jeep. It takes quite a bit of research and you don't want to fall for a vehicle based on toys, bells and whistles If you are in an region that uses a lot of winter salt, check-out which cars take rust protecting undercoat [not done at dealership, p-l-e-a-s-e] best? That is part of upkeep needed, inspected each year.
