Excel budget tips
Stick with Excel and keep refining your budget sheet.
Tip #1 - Use conditional formatting command to make actual money over budget in your budget categories to show in red...just seeing that in red will make you try harder to stay within budget.
Tip #2 - Categories can have more than one column. Example: Clothing...one column for clothes and one column for dry cleaning
Tipe #3 - Use Dave Ramsey's budget categories as needed for ideas. Make sure every dollar you make goes into a column per category. Roll/sum catgories into a summary column in a different tab...put a notes column so you can explain to yourself why you went over budget in a category for the month.
