  • 2013 Federal Budget Proposes Cap on Number of Flat Screen TVs a Household may Have

The Obama administration has determined that 2 big screen TVs is as many as any household could possibly need. Households with 3 or more big screen TVs are hereby ordered to bring their TVs in excess of the reasonable limit to their local PBS station in exchange for a "I'm a Wasteful Consumer" T-shirt which must be worn the 3rd Friday of every month.

For the record: Yes, I'm kidding ... but I made you look, didn't I?

Why would a house need more than one?

It would only be funny if there weren't so many people who actually do believe that the budget proposal proposed a cap on the amount of money one could save for retirement.

Ah but do you think society should provided you tax advantages for them? Or more to the point: When the nation switched from analog to digital television, did you feel entitled to coupons for more than just the two DTV converter coupons that were offered? Or did you recognize that if you have more than two televisions, that you don't need the government to subsidize your retrofitting of older televisions beyond the first two?
