  • Money problem help please

Hi, so im 23 years old and have worked most of my life after school. i lost my job last month and have had to use my savings up (which wasn't alot). And now i have nothing left and still no job i decided to try claim benefits for the time being.
However...my claim has been refused and i have no source of income and no family to help me out as they all live miles away and cant do nothing for me as they are fairly poor them self.
I have tried to appeal against the decision but refused that also due to legislation etc

Anyway... I have been given 7 days to get 124 pounds to prevent me being evicted by my housing association and i have absolutely no way of getting the money together in 7 days. I also have very little food left which i have been rationing as best i can but 2 more days and its gone.
Is there anyone on here who can give me advice on what to do about this?
Are there any associations which will help me as iv tried Google but cant find anything.
I have a 2 year old son who is supposed to come and stay with me from Friday for 4 weeks and if i get evicted i will be homeless and will loose contact with him for breaking mediation terms.

I'm genuinely stuck and at my wits end on what to do here.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated. Especially with the rent problem, I have tried speaking with the housing but they are very strict and the notice has been served. Thats the only response i get
    Please help

I would suggest going to a local church. Even if you're not religious, the people you find there are likely to be willing to help you. Many churches at least know of other local charities they can point you towards. Some even make sure the pastor has grocery gift cards on hand that he can share with people who really need food.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a rough time, and I wish you all the best in pulling through it.

when you say "124 pounds" I assume you are in GB - try food banks like these below...

See our open directory of food banks across the UK - created by Guardian readers. Add yours to the map here

You can also try finding a research project on craigslist or donating blood or plasma for quick money.

As for your son, if you can't take care of yourself, you should ask his current guardian to keep him for longer. I know it's hard, but it's more fair to both of you if you get stable first.

Finally, look for jobs ANYWHERE - craigslist does have some listings of temp stuff, hit the pavement, look online.

      Good luck!
