With higher maximum deposit allowed, isn't this a pretty good deal? It is an online account only but this seems to be better than ING and HSBC's etc. Don't know where the rate will go after the 5 months though. Please continue to share all your great opinions.

Not sure what you meant by "nice try"..almost sounded accusatory, or I have some stake in the company. I will ignore that and hopefully not be taking that out of context. You seemed to have found something different than what I was talking about. Here's the link that I was referring too, if it doesn't work, please someone let me know. I'm not the best computer guy out there.

Not a bad deal if you have the time to sit in a bank and set up an account. Most working people don't have the time. I much prefer the convenience of using treasury direct and rolling over 28 day treasury bills with my short term cushion money which can be had for a smaller minimum (discounted $1000). If you figure in the tax savings your net is pretty much close to the same.

Originally posted by jerseyguyYes, it is liquid, that was a pleasant surprise to me too. Let us know if goes easy when setting it up.
Luckily they still had the signature card I signed for a CD deal in 2005 so all I had to do was sign it again.
World Savings does not issue CD certificates. You get an old fashioned passbook each time.
