Good day! For those who have inconsistent income, it is necessarily to make a budget methodology. However, budget management is needed. One who has irregular income should be knowledgeable in managing their daily expenses and at least save a little so you will have extra if ever you experience budget deficit.

When I was bartending, (Variable income indeed!) I used the YNAB idea.... but I didnt buy the program.

I simply saved everything I made in January. February 1st, I deposited everything I made into my checking account. After that, I paid all the bills in February. Anything left over in the account could be used for discretionary (food, entertainment, clothing). Save everything in February. Deposit it all March 1st. Pay all bills. Rinse, Repeat.

I was so nervous about not having enough money one month to cover everything that I ended up about 4 months ahead - just in case. It took about a year and half to get there, but I felt much more comfortable about my financial situation.
