  • Corporate Minutes

I'm exploring my options for recording my corporate minutes for my rental properties LLC. Does anyone record their own companies corporate minutes. I'm considering trying Legal Zoom or some other similar service. Anyone have any input on this stuff?

I'm not certain what all you need to include in those types of minutes, but I would think if you got a template, you could just save it as a Word document and just add content and update whenever you have a meeting. That is what I do for all of my professional and personal meeting minutes (board positions, etc.).

There are plenty of templates online but what you should be doing is: (A) Understanding and complying with what your state law requires; and (B) Customizing the documents to capture all relevant business details. For some businesses a few lines is all it takes to customize whereas for others customization is much more time-consuming. The attorney who incorporated your company may have some ideas as well.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry, but I forgot to update everyone on the progress. I spoke to my lawyer who informed me that it's not necessary to maintain corporate minutes in my state. So, I'm off the hook for now.

That is great! Which state is that ... if I may?
