I would like to compile a short list of what everyone thinks are the best books regarding investing to have the shelf. I am eager to learn and some of them are written for experience pros out there. Seeking the really well written ones, in simple, plain English that scare the beginner away. Thanks.

Re: Book recommedations for newbies??
I have two books wrote down that were recommended. I'm waiting for the library to get them in. They are:
Financial Peace by Dave Ramsey
Debt Proof Living by Mary Hunt
Thanks for posting this question. I'm also interested to see what books are recommended.

Re: Book recommedations for newbies??
I did reccommend those two. Another real simple one is the wealthy barber by David Chilton. It is not about barbering but advice from the wealthiest man in town. I have always thought if you wanted advice about financial matters, you should ask a rich person.
It is an easy read book.
Also, "The only other investment guide you'll ever need" by Andrew Tobias. It was thru reading these books and the Money magazine that I picked up all of my financial knowledge.
Mary Hunt's book is more about getting out of debt, but we all have to do that in order to have money to invest. I am so happy to see some younger people interested in investing.
The best time to start investing is when you are young, the second best time is today!

Re: Book recommedations for newbies??
The book that I reccommended by Andrew Tobias, the only other investment guide you will ever need, is just an update of the first book, the only investment guide you'll ever need. I also like "Smart women finish rich" by David Bach.

Re: Book recommedations for newbies??
I loved Your Money or Your Life when I borrowed it from the library.
I picked up two books today: The Millionaire Next Door and Start Late, Finish Rich. Personally, I don't feel like I'm starting late, but I wanted to read it anyway.
