Hello All,
My question is regarding salary limits for traditional IRA contributions for a married couple filing jointly. My wife has never invested in an IRA, and I would like to get her started. She is not covered by retirement plan at work. I am self employed and contribute maximum to my own SEP-IRA plan. Our combined MAGI for last year is $190,000 and we expect it to be the same this year. Given our income and the fact that we file jointly, is she allowed to make traditional IRA contributions or Roth IRA contributions? Even if the contributions are not tax deductible, I think it would make sense for her to get going.
Thanks in advance!
