  • Credit Score and Enquiries

We have had on legitimate enquiry and two 'mistaken' enquiries of our credit score within a month.

    Does this lower our score?

How do we repair this, if at all.

Or do we wait and tediously let it slowly go back up to its number it was before the enquiries.

I thought of getting a credit card and paying off monthly to build the credit score, but realized if we were turned down this would probably affect it as it would be a fourth enquiry within a month.

    Has anyone had this happen.

Does anyone get the service to check the score all the time as opposed to the yearly free check to stay on top of it?

This is important as we may try to move within the year and we wanted the best possible score.

It is not great: 620 before the enquiries - but we still got a refi with that amount albeit with a higher interest rate.

This has me wondering about a future move with that type of score that may be lower now.

3 in one month will lower your score if they were hard pulls. You may be able to have the mistaken ones fixed through whoever pulled it, but you are probably just going to have to wait it out for a couple months for your score to rebound.

Hard pulls of your credit report will have a minor impact on your credit score, but it shouldn't be drastic. As long as you can wait it out a few months, your credit score should return to normal.
