Check Their BBB Reviews!!!
There are good public adjusters and then there are not so good public adjusters. A good sign of a competent, honest PA is their BBB reviews or social media reviews. While it's totally true that many companies just fabricate these by getting only happy clients or their own friends and family to write reviews, you should actually trust the PA who has 1 or 2 NEGATIVE reviews.
Why? Because it shows that they're a real company with real results. The best part about public adjusters is that they can get you cash for damage that happened up to 5 years ago. They'll help you if your claim is denied and they'll go in and strong arm the insurance company into giving you more cash if you weren't happy with your settlement.
I say- Definitely, GO FOR IT! You can't lose. You'll always get more with a reputable, experienced public adjuster than you will by yourself. My advice? Go through the public adjuster YOURSELF, NOT with the construction company.
