    Also: in Houston if you want to change your address on your drivers license online amongst the requirements are: a valid credit card.

    So renewal or change of address requires a credit card.

      That makes sense. If you are doing business online or by phone, you need to be able to pay the fees and obviously can't use cash or check so a CC would be needed. If you don't have one, you have to go in person. That might be inconvenient, which is one of many reasons I'm a firm believer in using credit cards - convenience. I do wonder why a debit card wouldn't work. Can't those essentially be processed the same as a credit card? I've never used one so I don't know the details.
