  • Where can I get my FICO score?

Last year I was able to get my FICO score from all three agencies via myfico.com. Now they only offer Equifax and TransUnion. Does anyone know how I can get my score from all three agencies ... preferably for less than a small fortune? I just got my free credit report from annualcreditreport.com.

Experian no longer makes its credit scores available for purchase by consumers. Companies can still get it from Experian if you apply for credit or something with them, but we as the individuals can't get it at will anymore. I forget when they instituted this policy, but it was fairly recently.

You can get a pretty good ballpark range from either CreditKarma dot com or CreditSesame dot com. Not an exact FICO number, but close, and both sites are free.

I doubt you got your Experian-based FICO score from myFICO.com last year. Experian ended their partnership with FICO and stopped selling scores to consumers back in 2009. As was mentioned, lenders can still purchase your Experian-based FICO scores though.

          What is a FICO® score

It's a number that is formulated based on your credit history helping lenders evaluate your credit risk. Your FICO® score is used to determine credit offers and interest rate. When you order your free FICO® Score here, you will begin your 10-day trial membership in Score Watch®. If you don't cancel your membership within the 10-day trial period, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. A three month minimum subscription applies. You may cancel your trial membership anytime within the trial period without charge.

FICO Scores are calculated from a lot of different credit data in your credit report. This data can be grouped into five categories as outlined below. The percentages in the chart reflect how important each of the categories is in determining your FICO score.
