No, not true. I opened an account about 4 months ago with just a few hundred to start. It's the online MM account.

Go to http://www.wfb.com/ click on Personal Savings and then look at Products - Savings Accounts. The last column of Savings Accounts lists the Online Money Market Plus; you click on Current Rates and then scroll down the same column to the end where it says $1.00 needed to open account online and also the interest rate of 4.25%.

It should have been advertised better. This is like looking for a needle in a haystack!

I once tried to open an account with them. however, after faxing them a copy of my driver's license, they said the number was invalid and returned my money. they're in CA and I'm in MI. idiots.
