I was thinking that too Disneysteve. I don't think $20/month would even feed 5 people at most fast food joints. They must just go out 2-3 times a year or something.

You're absolutely right. Our spending money budget is $250/month so if it's the month we go out as a family, or with friends, we take the difference out of that fund. If we go out to eat on vacation, it comes out of the vacation fund.

Otherwise, I just go out once or twice a month with the girls for a drink and maybe a dinner and the $20 covers it.

We don't want to be, "the ones who can't retire because we spent all our money going out to eat." We'd actually rather eat in, strange as that is.
