CD that allows for ongoing deposits

I'm just curious whether anyone has heard of a CD out there that would take ongoing deposits? For example, I open a 5 year CD at 3% with a $1000, but then I want to contribute an extra $100 mth. to the CD. Does this exist? If not, does anyone know why it wouldn't?

Yes, it is called an add-on CD.
