My "I love debt score" is very high, but I suspect that to drop over the next 10 years because of not borrowing money.

      My personal best is 805.

But really, as long as you are above the threshold for prime (think around 760), it doesn't much matter. You are either in, or you're out.

Then it's income to debt ratio.

Last time I checked it was 820. All-time best was 823.

Where do you guys check your scores? I check my credit report for free from three major sites periodically, but I do not see score.

We got our scores last month when we refinanced our mortgage. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a current number (nor would I particularly care). I did buy my score once a few years ago just because I was curious but I wouldn't do that again. If you do want your score, the place to get it is myfico.com.

Mine was around 740 a couple months ago. I was happily surprised!

My score was low, because of a cosign and I am young. I looked at it for the first time back in august 2008. It was like 609 or something ridiculous like that. I came to this forum and asked for advice, got good advice, and now I am at 699. Almost there to the 700 mark!.

Just checked my score for the first time. 22, so not much credit used (one credit card, car loan.) My score was 728, very exciting.

Nearly 2 years ago I took out a Home equity loan. Much to my surprise I learned from my bank I had a 872 FICO score. I always thought the highest you could get was 850. They told me there are occasions when it is higher. I guess a lifetime of acting responsibly with money does pay off!

That is a great score! Higher than most, you must be doing something right.

FICO scores do top out at 850. If your score was 872, it was not a FICO. There are other credit rating systems that go higher. A few years ago, I know I got a score somewhere along the line that was over 900 but I don't remember the details.

It means one borrows money early and often, while maintaining prompt payments.

Just financed 1/2 the purchase price on a new Honda because they were offering 0.9% financing up to 60 months. We have the money to pay outright but decided to keep the extra funds in the account and finance with the cheap money instead.

When I picked up the car on Saturday, the business manager looked up my score and told me it was 871 which was the highest he had personally ever seen. I said I thought it was capped at 850 and he said "I thought so too until your score came back." We asked what my husband's score was, out of curiosity, since he was a co-signer and was told they never bothered to run his credit since my score was so high. The business manager offered to run it so we would know the score, but we declined.

Maybe it wasn't a FICO score, but I guess it doesn't matter at the end of the day for us...
