  • Life Insurance Policy- How many years do I get it

    Hello,
My husband and I are 35, we have a 9 month old daughter. We live in Los Angeles and we rent a house. We have a good solid income. We save money about %15 of our monthly gross, 10% retirement and 2% for college. We are planning (hopefully) to have one more baby. My question: How long should I get a term- life insurance policy? 20 years? 25? I don't think I need something for 35 years because by then, we'll have money saved for retirement, everything paid off (mortgage/credit cards/student loans). When my daughter is 20 she'll be in college.
Any thoughts? I appreciate any/all feedback.
    Thanks in advance.

I agree w/ your line of thinking. Life insurance is for when the kids are still at home and/or the surviving spouse would need income to live on.

I agree a 20 year term, or 25 if offered. You can always cancel the policy if it looks like you can self insure at some point.
