My girlfriend some time back got a debt consolidation loan/personal loan, she owes around $6k on it, is it possible to refi these types of loans or do they just not deal with that kind of thing for these loans? thanks.

For about $6k of debt, a refi is alomst pointless. You should strive to pay it off in less than a year.
For saving 2%, that would save you less than $120 of interest. And you'd pay some fees to set it up, so your benefit just gets lower.
Pay off the debt as soon as she can, 6 mos to a year is ideal. -

no matter how much your amount is ...its totally applicable for the consolidation ..but at the same time i don agree with the post that there is no need for the consolidation for your amount..Comment
