Rates and coverage are a big concern, but you also want to make sure that the insurance company is financially stable. If you are taking out a 20 year term, you would hope that the company will be around for at least that long or more. When speaking with your agent, make sure that the rates are guaranteed to not increase during the term. Also, ask them about how the convertibility works and what other riders may be available.

Corey makes a great point. Making sure that your rates on your policy are locked in is probably the next most important thing to look for. The insurance company may offer you a great rate to begin the plan, but they often will increase that rate several years into the plan. You should also decide which type of life insurance works best for you, whole life or term policies.

Well, it is very important to know which company you are choosing, while applying for life insurance as, it is should be reputed. There are many frauds I have seen like, the agents are taking your money and running away.

So, you should be sure of all the companies you are consulting.
