  • Cheaper alternative to Nutrisystem

I have been strugglign with my nutrition lately. . .working like 60 hours/week, eating fast food and I have found I have gained 10 pounds (oops!).

Anyway, I have always wanted to do Nutrisystem because given the amount of time I dont have to cook, it seems to make sense - here's your meals. . .don't eat more. Perfect for my lifestyle, a person who doesn't have time to cook.

But I thought they were kind of pricey.

And when I bought Lean Cuisines and Weight Watcher's meals, well, let's say as a guy who needs 1800-2000 calories/day, the 240 calorie "Chicken/Pasta/Broccoli in a cream sauce" makes me laugh. I sat down with my staff at lunch and they laughed at it like WTF - this is MY LUNCH? Maybe for Barbie.

So what I have done is simply add hard boiled eggs or bacon to everything (bacon goes with everything is only 70 calories/slice - turkey bacon is 50, I think) so as I watch my nutrition, I make sure I am getting enough calories with each meal. And a cup of vegetable soup too - but I make sure the protein is there to curb hunger.

Seems to be working - lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks.

The healthy choice meals are really good. Cajun chicken and shrimp. Nice. $2

You can also eat two of them.

I like to do a healthy choice steamer and a piece of chicken. Bought the chicken in bulk. Extra protein. Sometimes do HC and a piece of fruit.

Some of these are really good: Healthy Choice - Cafe Steamers - Steam your healthy meals in the microwave. Unlock fresh taste and crisp vegetables.

Oh and I add Parmesan cheese to the ones with tomato sauces. (parmesan cheese is like 20 cals a serving)

    Oh FYI - I'm a 195 lb athletic guy

I've been eating the cafe steamers too. They're great and really cheap. Adding a piece of chicken is crazy smart too.
A second thought would be for you to possibly check out your body type with regards to how your body responds to certain foods. I highly recommend looking at this book

The 7 Principles of Fat Burning [Hardcover]
      D.C., Eric Berg (Author)

The latest edition came out in March 2010

It is an easy read and not a diet plan but real world.

      That's my two cents.
