    Good points, Vicky.

My nephews ALWAYS have issues at meal times. Mostly they won't eat something because it's "weird". I ask them, does it taste bad? They say no, it's just not like mom makes it. Or, it's green!

Most times I think they'd be happy eating mac-n-cheese out of a box and hot dogs.

Groceries is one category I will spend what it takes to get healthy food. What's the point in having money if one's health isn't the best? I recommend the fim "Food, Inc" to everyone. It may make people reconsider food from factory farms. It shows why that food is so cheap.

Read Omnivore's Dilemma too, it's what food inc. is based on and goes into much more detail. I also recommend Fast Food Nation. Reading FFN has almost completely eliminated fast food from my diet.

          Eating in to save money

Avoid eating out to save money. I know that we all need a break from routine, but just be aware of the cost of restaurant meals. On a single dinner out, a couple can easily spend as much as they do on two weeks of grocery shopping. Maybe the relaxing ambiance and the break from the humdrum are really worth that much to you. That's your call.

If you're seriously into saving, consider reducing the frequency of those costly restaurant outings.

The Save More Money Template I found in Money Skills For Life website helped me solve this kind of problem.
