Well where to begin. I own a landscaping business and just got done with my taxes and really took it in the rear this year. The basic reason is very shotty finance work which I do myself. I don't yet make enough to hire a book keeper. This is my 3rd business and I have never run into this problem. with the last 2 I raked in a ton of profits from the first week but this time I actually have to think about the revenue and expenses as I am not making very much after expenses. Maybe its the bad economy maybe not I don't know. Anyhoo I have been reading books on business finance but its all foreign to me. Dose anyone have any tips or resources on this topic? I was given a few tips from my tax person but I really don't ever want to find myself in this situation again.

I don't fully comprehend the question
if you have low cash flow, financing a small business has high risk (high rewards too). Without decent cash flow to make the debt payments, financing various aspects of the operation is too risky for my blood.

I am thinking now its time to find a new tax person lol. I just talked to him on the phone and am not very happy. I just found out I could have added my home office in as well as a portion of all my bills for having a home office as well as much more equipment expenses. He said we change change and resubmit everything but I keep in mind the first day his speech of his job to get me the most amount of money back with the less risk and taking advantage of every legal road we can to do so, this is why it took 3 days to do them but now I fail to understand why all these credits and benefits were not mentioned to me before submitting my taxes. I was able to write off the equipment depreciation but was not told I could write off the total expense for the start up in the first year which would have saved me a lot of money. I was questioning everything when we did not wright off tractors and stuff like that but rather the depreciation of them, I thought "Wait a minute that was a business expense why cant I write it off as one"
