    Re: $8000?

I'm a little above that, but some of that is the balances that I pay in full every month (makes monthly finances easier plus cash back), and some of it is from a balance transfer I had to do on my car loan to get my exhusband's name off of it--the rest is from divorce expenses. Let me say that divorce is NOT cheap--three years later and I'm still paying for it (although happy to say that I'm almost done).

We don't carry a cc balance either - except when they give us a 0%. I just finished paying off one of those because the rate was about to go up - about $2000, but I don't think I will do that again. It's easier to just pay as we go. I think I have a few hundred outstanding right now on credit cards, but it will all be paid off before the next bill.

        Re: $8000?

I was almost at 10,000 about 2 years ago.
Today I am around 1,800, and I expect to be out of debt around new years.
The best thing I did was to transfer half of my balance to a 0%apr for 1 year card. That year is almost up, and I am trying to get it all paid off before interest kicks back in. But I'm guessing that doing that saved me about $900!
        wish me luck...

Way, way, over $8,000. All of it is either at 0 to 1.9%. All of it was used to purchase savings accounts or cd's, often taking advantage of account opening bonuses. Nothing like using other people's money to make money for you.

You should put that big, bold, disclaimer here, as you did in your other post - seriously though peeps, not for the faint of heart.

I pay off my credit cards in full every month. The only time I didn't was last year. I had about $1500 on the card at 0% interest, and I won't be doing that again. I didn't like having it hang over my head, even at 0%.

I am slightly under $22,000. It's at 0% right now. After tax time and my payments, I should be paid off by next year.

I have 0 credit card debt now. I still use them, I did today, but I budget $240 a month for that, and try not to go above that. I went over at christmas, but managed to pay off about $600 owed!

I use one credit card and I used to phone up and find out my entire balance to pay off but I have just recently found out that you just have to pay the new balance not the entire balance without interest, so I can use their money for free for 30 days.

I wish I knew that sooner!!!

Using a cash back card now, so charging more, but always pay it off every month.

My new year's eve resolution two years ago was to pay my balance in full every month. so I have less than $300 on my card now which I will pay off next month.

When I married 12 years ago my new husband said he would add me to his credit card as long as I paid it off every month. That helped me learn how to shop wisely and avoid unnecessary purchases. We use one credit card for everything now, gasoline, groceries, medicine, cable tv, cellular telephone, etc....and the average $1000 monthly bill is paid in full.
